FLORIDA HOSPITAL ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE AND FLORIDA DAIRY FARMERS' RECOGNIZE HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC TRAINER OF THE YEAR

Surgeons in operating roomFlorida Hospital would like to congratulate James Marshall, ATC of Naples, Florida in winning the High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award for outstanding contributions in High School sports medicine. The award was established by the Florida Hospital Orthopaedic Institute in conjunction with Florida Dairy Farmers' and awarded during the 10th Annual Florida Dairy Farmers' Sports Awards Banquet for Champions at Walt Disney World.

The objective of the High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award is to recognize an individual for their outstanding achievements and contributions to sports medicine on the local high school level. Areas of focus were prevention of serious athletic injury, outstanding volunteer contributions at the local or state level and special volunteerism or organizational efforts on the behalf of an athletic training society/committee.

In order to be nominated candidates had to show they had made an outstanding contribution locally in the area of sports medicine, are a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in good standing with the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the Athletic Training Association of Florida, are active in advancing the profession of Athletic Training and are a well-respected member of their community.

James was selected out of 25 very impressive other candidates from around the state of Florida.

Again we would like to salute James and thank him for being such a wonderful example of the quality and commitment of athletic trainers in our state.
